Buying wholesale clothing in Jaraguá
Jaraguá draws shop owners and independent resellers from other towns and states looking for jeans and fashion straight from the factories. Here is how the hub works and what to confirm before you go.
1. Understand the hub
There is no single shopping center where all the factories are gathered: production is spread around the town. The largest concentration of wholesale stores is in the Setor Aeroporto district and along Avenida JK, close to the access from the BR-153 highway; there are also clothing makers downtown and in other neighborhoods. The Outlet Jaraguá, on the BR-153, was created to bring brands together in one place; check its current situation before your trip.
2. Get to the town
Jaraguá lies along the BR-153 highway, about 120 km from Goiânia, the state capital, and 82 km from Anápolis. There are daily buses from Goiânia. Routes, buses and airports are on the page how to get to Jaraguá.
3. Arrange things with the companies in advance
Each clothing maker has its own rules. Before leaving home, ask the company directly about:
- days and opening hours, especially on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays;
- the minimum order (by number of pieces, by size run or by amount spent);
- accepted payment methods;
- whether it sells wholesale, retail or both;
- whether it serves customers without an appointment or by appointment only.
Contact details for the listed companies are on the clothing factories in Jaraguá page.
4. Documents and invoices
To buy for resale with an invoice (nota fiscal) in your store's name, bring your company's details (its Brazilian CNPJ number and, where applicable, its state registration). Buyers purchasing as individuals receive the invoice under their CPF (Brazilian taxpayer number). If you have questions about taxes on resale, ask your company's accountant.
5. Shopping tours and vans
There are shopping tours that leave other towns bound for Jaraguá. If you organize one, agree on your arrival time with the stores and confirm where the bus or van can stop and park: the portal does not yet have official information on stopping points for tour buses.
6. Make the most of the trip
If you spend the day in town, you can visit the Serra de Jaraguá and the historic center. For an overnight stay, see hotels and guesthouses. The busiest periods for the fashion trade usually come before Mother's Day, Father's Day and the end of the year.
Sales rules are set by each company and may change. The information on this page is general guidance; always confirm with the store.
