Three-day itinerary in Jaraguá
Three days allow you to explore the Serra at leisure, learn the town's history and still take a trip to Pirenópolis, 74 km away. This itinerary is for sightseers; for a business trip, use the shopping itinerary.
Day 1: Serra and nature
- Morning: go up the Serra de Jaraguá (5 km of dirt road from the Rosário church). Viewpoints, towers and the free-flight ramp.
- Midday: hike the Poção Trail and, in the dry season, swim in the Poção (see trails of the Serra).
- Afternoon: return to the ramp to watch the takeoffs (June to October) and have dinner downtown at the end of the day.
Day 2: history, culture and shopping
- Morning (weekday): the historic center on foot, with the Casa do Padre Silvestre and the three churches. Add museums and heritage.
- Lunch: Goiás-style food (food and drink).
- Afternoon: swim in the Rio Saraiva (Goianésia road) or shop at the clothing factories in Setor Aeroporto and Avenida JK.
- Evening: Praça do Coreto.
Day 3: pick an outing
| Profile | Option |
|---|---|
| History lovers | Pirenópolis, about 74 km (1h10) via the GO-338/GO-431. It was the Arraial de Meia Ponte, founded in 1727, from which Jaraguá was split in 1833. It has 26,690 inhabitants (2022 Census). Check Pirenópolis' official tourism sources for hours and attractions. |
| Walkers | A stretch of the Cora Coralina Trail: about 24.2 km from the Rosário church to Vila Aparecida. Arrange the return transport. |
| Sports fans | The 1.6 km downhill, mountain biking or free flight (June to October). See sports and adventure. |
| Shoppers | One more day at the clothing factories or, if open, the Outlet Jaraguá (confirm its status before going). |
Where to stay and how to get around
There are hotels downtown, near the clothing shops (Setor Aeroporto) and on the BR-153; see hotels. A car makes the day-3 outing easier; see how to get there and neighboring towns.
Best season for three days
May to September (dry season) is safest for the Serra, trails and river swimming, and June to October for free flight. In May or June you may coincide with the Festa do Divino and the Cavalhadas (the date changes every year). See when to go.
