Sports and adventure in Jaraguá
The Serra de Jaraguá is the center of outdoor activities: free flight (with a 303 km record), mountain-bike downhill, trails and the Cora Coralina Trail. During Carnival, the Rio das Almas hosts the Ralyboia.
Free flight
The ramp at the top of the Serra is one of the main ones in Brazil's Center-West. The best months are June to October. In July the ramp hosts an international circuit with up to 350 athletes, and the distance record logged by Semad left Jaraguá and landed in Rio Verde, 303 km in a straight line. See the 2005-2011 championships and how to watch in paragliding in Jaraguá. Tandem flights: the portal found no fixed operator; see the guidance on the same page.
Mountain biking and downhill
The park has a downhill course of about 1,600 m, with obstacles, used in national competitions, according to Semad. The 5 km dirt road to the ramp can also be ridden uphill. Wear a helmet, gloves and protection on the descents, and tell the park administration if you are training as a group.
Trails and hiking
The Poção and Abismo trails and the climb to the towers and viewpoints are the classic outings. For more distance, the Cora Coralina Trail has 24.2 km in the municipality. See trails of the Serra.
River swimming
The Poção da Serra, the Rio Saraiva and the Rio das Almas beach are options for cooling off. See swimming in rivers and the safety rules.
Ralyboia, during Carnival
Jaraguá's street Carnival includes sporting attractions, such as the Ralyboia, on the Rio das Almas. The portal does not have the rules or current dates for this event; check the official Carnival program each year. See the festival calendar.
