Privacy policy
This policy explains what data the Jaraguá GO portal (jaraguago.com.br) collects, how it is used and what your rights are, in accordance with Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law 13,709/2018). It describes what the site actually does; whenever something changes, the date at the end of the page is updated.
This is a translation provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the Portuguese version prevails.
1. Who we are
Jaraguá GO is an independent information portal about the town of Jaraguá, Goiás, with no ties to the City Hall or any public body. It is run by its editor, a private individual. Contact for privacy matters: jaraguago@jaraguago.com.br or the contact form (in Portuguese).
2. Data we collect
- Access logs: like any website, the hosting server automatically records IP address, browser type, pages visited and date/time, for security and troubleshooting.
- Forms: when you submit a classified ad, register a business, use the contact form or request a correction to a listing, we collect what you provide (name, e-mail, phone/WhatsApp, business address, the text of the ad or message) and your IP address, which is used only to prevent abuse.
- Cookies and identifiers: the portal itself does not set cookies to track you. Cookies are used by Google for advertising (section 4) and by the administration panel, which is restricted to the editor.
3. How we use the data
- To publish the ads and listings you submitted, after review. Only what is meant for publication goes online: the advertiser's or company's name, phone/WhatsApp, business address, website and, for classified ads, the e-mail only if you tick the "show my e-mail" option.
- To answer your messages and correction requests.
- To prevent spam and abuse (submission limits per IP address and per e-mail).
4. Advertising: Google AdSense
The portal displays Google AdSense ads (publisher account ca-pub-5456977749299862) on pages with informational content. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and identifiers to serve ads, measure their performance and, where permitted, personalize them based on your visits to this and other websites. Google's code is loaded only on pages that carry ads; it is not loaded on forms, search, error pages, the policy, the terms or the contact page.
You can manage personalized advertising in Google's ad settings. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services. For visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, consent for ads is requested through Google's own consent-message tool, shown in those regions.
5. Traffic statistics
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are visited most. The reports are aggregated and do not identify you personally. You can block data collection with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
6. External services your browser accesses
Some site features are provided by third parties and, when you use them, your browser communicates directly with their server, which receives at least your IP address and technical connection data. They are:
- Google (AdSense): ads, as described in section 4.
- Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com): the weather forecast page queries the Open-Meteo API directly from your browser. We do not send your name or any form data, but the request comes from your device, and Open-Meteo receives your IP address as with any visit to a website.
- OpenStreetMap (openstreetmap.org): the interactive map on the map of Jaraguá page is loaded inside an OpenStreetMap frame, which may set its own cookies.
- Newsletter: at the moment the portal has no e-mail sign-up for updates. If it has one again, this section will be updated with the service used.
- External links: third-party websites (City Hall, public bodies, companies) have their own policies.
7. Sharing
We do not sell or hand over your data. It only reaches the services described above, to the extent needed for the site to work, or the authorities when there is a legal obligation.
8. Data retention
- Classified ads: remain published for 90 days. After that they go offline, but the record (with your contact details and IP address) stays in the system until it is deleted by the editor or at your request.
- Business-directory listings: remain published until the company asks for removal or the editor takes them down.
- Contact messages and correction requests: are kept in the editor's panel until deleted, so they can be followed up.
- Server logs: follow the hosting company's retention policy.
9. Your rights
You can request confirmation of, access to, correction of or deletion of your data, and withdraw consent, by writing to jaraguago@jaraguago.com.br. For a specific listing, use the "Report an error" link shown next to each classified ad and listing. We reply within 15 days.
10. Minors
The portal is not directed at people under 18 and does not knowingly collect their data.
11. Security
The site uses HTTPS. Data submitted through forms is stored in an area of the server that cannot be accessed from the browser, with password-protected access restricted to the editor.
12. Changes
This policy may be updated. The date of the last change appears at the end of the page.
