Watching the takeoffs

Non-flyers also go up to the ramp to watch the takeoffs and enjoy the view of the town. Flying depends on the wind and the weather: there is no guarantee of pilots at the ramp on any given day. On competition days it gets very busy; check the calendar of the free-flight associations before you go.

Tandem flights and courses

At its last check, the portal did not find a regular tandem-flight operator working year-round in Jaraguá. If you want to fly as a passenger, look for accredited free-flight schools and instructors, confirm the equipment and insurance and book the date in advance, always subject to wind conditions. During competitions, flights are sometimes offered to visitors; confirm with the event organizers.

Competitions on the mountain

The mountain is known for distance (cross-country) flying: the region's thermals allow long flights, and retrieval is easy in several directions. Semad reports that in July the ramp hosts a competition with up to 350 athletes. Some milestones in the history of free flight in Jaraguá:
