Historical ties

Jaraguá was born after Meia Ponte (Pirenópolis, 1727) and Santa Rita do Anta (1729), and was made a town in 1833, split from Meia Ponte. São Francisco de Goiás shares with Jaraguá the Serra de Jaraguá State Park: its 2,828.66 hectares lie in both municipalities. And the Cora Coralina Trail links Jaraguá to Pirenópolis, São Francisco de Goiás, Itaguari and other towns, as shown on the page about the Trail.

Tip for visitors from afar

People traveling on business (clothing purchases) often sleep in Jaraguá and visit Pirenópolis on another day. See the three-day itinerary, which includes that trip.
