The local economic engines

Clothing

The clothing industry is the town's economic trademark. Factories and wholesale shops are concentrated in the Setor Aeroporto district and on Avenida JK, and Jaraguá's denim is sold to shopkeepers across Brazil. The portal has pages on clothing factories, the Outlet Jaraguá and Expo Jaraguá, a fashion fair organized by the local business association (ACIJ). The portal has no official count of factories; avoid figures without a source.

Farming

Agriculture stands out for maize, beans and pineapple (Jaraguá was once called the "pineapple king"), together with beef and dairy cattle, timber and clay extraction for ceramics, and quarries. See the full picture in geography.

Highway commerce and services

The town sits on the BR-153 (Belém-Brasília highway), between Anápolis and northern Goiás, and became an obligatory stop on the route. This supports hotels, gas stations, restaurants and shops along the highway. See the hotels.

Tourism

The Serra de Jaraguá, free flight, the historic center and the Cavalhadas complete the picture. Tourism and fashion feed each other: wholesale buyers often use the trip to sightsee. See the shopping itinerary and the one-day itinerary.

Reading the public accounts

In 2025, 77.45% of the city government's gross current revenue came from transfers (payments from the state and federal governments), a common pattern among mid-sized Brazilian municipalities. Gross budget revenue grew from R$ 68.1 million (2013) to R$ 232.0 million (2025), in current values.
