About the Jaraguá GO portal

Jaraguá GO (jaraguago.com.br) is the online city portal of Jaraguá, in the Brazilian state of Goiás. It has been online since 2008 and is run independently by people with ties to the town.

Why the portal exists

The site was created in 2008 with a simple purpose: to make life easier for anyone looking for information about Jaraguá, whether institutional or commercial. It follows the affairs of the town and its people and helps consumers find products and services in Jaraguá and the surrounding region, serving as a promotional channel for professionals and businesses.

The portal is designed both for people who live in Jaraguá and for those who come from elsewhere: retailers looking for the clothing factories, tourists drawn by the mountain and the festivals, people looking for housing, jobs or services.

How information is gathered

The texts on history, geography and culture are based on official publications (IBGE, the City Hall, state legislation) and reference works such as Folclore goiano by José Aparecido Teixeira. Business-directory listings are sent in by the companies themselves or compiled by the portal, and classified ads are published by the advertisers themselves after review. Found a mistake? Checked information

Details that change over time (phone numbers, opening hours, addresses, the status of developments) are checked against official sources or with the establishments themselves. When that happens, the page shows the label "Information checked", with the month of the check. Anything we cannot confirm is not published as fact.

How the site is funded

The portal is funded by advertising: Google AdSense ad spaces and ads from local businesses (in Portuguese). Paid ads are labeled "Featured" or "Advertisement". Our privacy policy explains how the ads work and what data is collected.
